When I think of lambs, I think of gentleness, safety, and the way Scripture speaks of the Good Shepherd watching over His flock. That picture was in my heart as I crocheted this blue lamb baby blanket, one row at a time, for little ones who are so dearly loved.

This handmade filet crochet blanket features a sweet lamb motif formed entirely through open and filled stitches. From a distance, the scene appears almost like a shadow painting; up close, you can see every small space my hook has passed through. Soft acrylic yarn in blue, cream, and neutral tones keeps the blanket light in weight yet wonderfully cozy, ideal for year-round use in the nursery.

Measuring about 30.5 x 41.5 inches, it is sized just right for a crib, rocker, or stroller. Many families use it first as a baby shower or baptism gift, then as a cherished piece of nursery décor draped over a chair or folded at the foot of the crib. It also makes a meaningful choice for godparents who want to give something faith-filled and lasting.

I prepare each blanket carefully for gifting, folding it with care so the lamb design is easy to see as soon as the box is opened. Because of the filet style, the scene shows best when the blanket is laid over a darker surface; the contrast lets the delicate artwork stand out clearly.

To care for your heirloom, wash on a gentle, cool cycle and lay flat to dry. Slight variations in stitching are part of the story of handmade work and make each blanket truly one of a kind.

Whether it is spread under tiny fingers for playtime or saved for quiet rocking-chair moments, this lamb blanket is meant to wrap your little one in warmth, Scripture's quiet imagery, and a sense of being safely held.
